Rob Hahn: Why run? I saw need for reform in family law

I am one of nearly 250,000 noncustodial parents in Minnesota. Like many of them, I didn't choose this situation willingly. I would prefer shared physical custody of my two boys, ages 12 and 10. But I made compromises, wanting to keep my boys out of any court shenanigans, well aware that Minnesota's divorce law doesn't favor joint custody, even when it is in the best interest of the children.
